April 23, 2025
In its first year as a program, our women's swim has earned a spot at the 2025 3C2A State Championship, with five athletes qualifying to compete at Santa Rosa Junior College from May 1–3.
Emma Fritz, Sofie Salazar, Catrina Leon, Nalani Galindo, and Emmalea Roberson will represent the Jets at the meet after a strong showing throughout the regular season.
Individual Event Qualifiers
Three swimmers qualified for individual events by finishing the season ranked among the top 16 in the state in their respective races:
-
Emma Fritz: 50 Freestyle, 100 Freestyle, 200 Freestyle
-
Sofie Salazar: 100 Individual Medley, 100 Butterfly, 200 Individual Medley
-
Nalani Galindo: 100 Individual Medley
Their performances reflect the depth and balance of Miramar's young roster.
Relay Team Success
The Jets also qualified three relay teams for the state meet:
-
400 Freestyle Relay
-
400 Medley Relay
-
800 Freestyle Relay
Relay teams are made up of a combination of the five swimmers and had to rank in the top 16 statewide to qualify. With over 50 colleges fielding women's swim teams in the 3C2A, Miramar's placement is a strong indication of the program's potential moving forward.
Looking Ahead
Qualifying for state in its first year is a meaningful step for Miramar Swim. The team has laid a strong foundation, and the experience gained at this year's championship will help continue to build the program in the seasons to come.
