Bio

Born and raised in Oceanside, Evan has been playing water polo since 2008. He started his career at Vista High School and North San Diego Stars Water Polo Club. While competing as a 3-year Varsity starter, his team saw two CIF finals and one CIF title. 

After high school he continued competing at Palomar College where he was named PCAC Player of the Year and First Team All-American. While still attending Palomar he began his water polo coaching career, beginning as a JV coach at El Camino High School. Since then, he has coached at RBV, Cathedral Catholic, Westview, Carlsbad, and returned to El Camino in 2021 to be Head Coach of the girl's program. The team placed top 4 in the county in 2023, the highest finish in school history, finishing the season in the semi-final game for the D2 State Championship. 

Evan also has experience coaching boys and girls club teams ranging from 10u-18u at NSD Stars, Carlsbad, San Diego Shores, and Seaside. In 2021 and 2022 he worked with the USA Olympic Development Program as a coach in the Pacific Southwest Section.

Outside of coaching water polo, Evan is an Ocean Lifeguard for the City of Encinitas.
