Miramar MVB provides support to USAV Cup, World Grand Prix
The Miramar men's volleyball team received a unique experience in May and June, when it acted as part of the on-court support team for the first match of the USA Volleyball Cup, a two-match series between Team USA and the Japan Men's Olympic Volleyball Team, and for the second leg of the women's 2016 FIVB World Grand Prix at Long Beach State University. The Jets administered floor-wiping duties during the matches, and also presented the flags of both nations during the national anthems. All the while, Jets MVB players were "ring side" for the action as the USA Women's and Men's National teams opened preparations for the Rio Olympic Games.
Miramar MVB's participation in the USAV Cup and the World Grand Prix was made possible by Jets MVB head coach John Landicho, whose long-time relationship with USA Volleyball resulted in a request for assistance for the USA-based matches. Jets MVB players were thrilled to help out the 2015 World Cup champion USA Men and 2014 World Champion USA Women, while watching the action from the best seats in the house!
