Miramar MVB completes inaugural season with 3-1 loss to Palomar
Apr 10, 2015

The Miramar men's volleyball team completed the first season in the program's history, with a 32-34, 25-18, 25-17, 25-20 loss to PCAC rival Palomar College, at the Hourglass Fieldhouse.

Set one saw the two teams battle into overscore, as the Jets eventually would lock up a 34-32 set win. A season-long challenge would prove the Jets undoing, as the Comets would take advantage of 30 Miramar hitting errors and 15 service errors to sweep sets 2-4 and take the season-ending match for both teams.

OH's Caleb Deibel and Levi Vermeulen and OPP Zach Wissing led the Jets offense with 10 kills each. S Noly Mon Jr. tallied 33 assists on the evening, and added 10 digs. Dominic Villanueva came off the bench midway through the second set, an provided a spark as he led the Miramar defensive effort with 12 digs.

After creating the program in three months with little recruiting due to CCCAA rules, and no off-season strength & conditioning program, the Jets now look forward to a full off-season program, time on the sand playing two-man beach volleyball, and new, talented teammates in the Fall to bolster this year's all-freshman roster.
