WSOC's Olmedo named PCAC Athlete of the Week
Miramar women's soccer goalkeeper Adriana Olmedo was one of two Pacific Coast Athletic Conference Women's Athletes of the Week, for the week ending September 20th. Olmedo shares the award with Southwestern College cross country runner Amitat Olowara.
Olmedo, a freshman from Vista Murrieta High School, recorded 10 saves while shutting out state No. 1-ranked Los Angeles Pierce in a 0-0 tie. She had six saves, including a tip over the bar in the middle of the second half, in a 2-0 victory over East Los Angeles.
Olmedo is 4-1-1 with a goals-against average of 0.833 and 31 saves for the Jets, who are third in Southern California in power points and fourth in state power points in ratings compiled by the California Community College Soccer Coaches Association.
